Justin Bieber Arrested for DUI

justin bieber arrested for DUI

Justin Bieber was arrested for DUI on Thursday, in Miami Beach, Florida.  Additionally, Bieber was arrested and charged with resisting arrest when he allegedly failed to listen to officer’s commands leading up to his stop and arrest. Officers reported Bieber’s license was expired and he smelled of alcohol, which lead to his DUI arrest.  Bieber’s arrest for DUI came after he allegedly admitted to smoking marijuana and taking prescription pills prior to driving his vehicle.  Additionally, he was speeding 55 in a 30 mph zone prior to his arrest.

Currently, across the United States the blood alcohol level limit for DUI is .08 for individuals who are 21 years older and over.  Mr. Bieber is only 19 years of age, therefore his BAC limit for DUI is much lower. Some states have a zero tolerance policy for drivers under 21 years of age, meaning any alcohol in their system will lead to a DUI arrest.  Here in Nevada, the BAC limit for an individual under 21 years old is .02, which is four times under the legal limit for adults.  It is not known what Bieber’s BAC was at the time of his DUI arrest, but you can expect the alcohol, marijuana and prescription pills to be used against him when facing his DUI charge in court.  Even if the levels or alcohol and marijuana are low, prosecutors can argue that the combined effect of all three substances lead to him being “DUI” or “under the influence”.
