Mr. Mayo left the Las Vegas valley and was later caught in California in March of 2013 by multiple police agencies, including, Henderson Police, Metro Police, the FBI and the Los Angeles Police Department. Bail was set at $1.05 million, by Clark County District Court Judge Linda Bell. Mr. Bell is currently in custody at the Clark County Detention.
In order to find Mr. Mayo guilty of the murder charge, the Clark County District Attorney’s office must prove that his alleged actions were the proximate cause of his wife’s death. If the medical experts show that there were factors other than the alleged battery by the vacuum cleaner and that she had a medical condition which was the cause of death, the murder charge may not stand. Ultimately in this case, the autopsy will play a large role in the outcome of this case.
