An Uber Decrease in DUI’s?

Uber Lyft may be a contributing factor to why there has been a decrease in DUI arrests.

Uber and Mothers Against Drunk Driving paired up in creating a survey for people all over the U.S. The reports showed that DUI arrests had significantly dropped in California (Uber’s home state) and that these results would most likely begin to spread to other states that the company operates from as well.

Could it be that people are becoming more responsible knowing that there is a safe, affordable way to get home after a late night of bar hopping?

Not only California, Vegas has been seeing a difference in DUIimgres arrests also. Over the years- 7,700 people were arrested in 2012, in 2013 5,800 people and in 2014 4,500 people. Although Uber has not officially started in Vegas yet, and is still in the process of being operational in certain states. This will hopefully lead to a decrease in DUI’s once available to the people of Nevada.

Be aware of your surroundings and know that there is always another option besides getting behind the wheel after drinking.
