Simple Battery
A Simple Battery is not a legal term in Las Vegas, Nevada, but is a term of art used to describe a Misdemeanor Battery offense. For example, if you were at a bar and decided to punch a stranger in the face and the resulting injury was nothing more than a black eye, that would be considered a Misdemeanor “Simple” Battery, and a conviction would subject the offender to a fine up to $1,000 and up to 6 months of jail. If you are accused of committing a Battery on “protected person” such as a police officer, a health care provider, school teacher or a taxi cab driver, you would then be facing a Felony Battery charge. Having a violent criminal offense on your record such as a Battery can have a detrimental effect on your life. Las Vegas Criminal Defense Attorney Michael A. Troiano will prepare an effective legal defense for your Battery charge and fight to keep your record clean.
