Petty Larceny, (aka “Petit” Larceny) is a Misdemeanor criminal offense in Las Vegas, Nevada. Nevada Revised Statute “NRS” 205.240 defines Petty Larceny as, any intentionally stealing, taking and carrying away of the personal goods or property of another, with a value of less than $1,200. For example, if Ben walked into a 7-11, and removed a Snickers bar from the counter, without the intention of paying for it, he has committed a Petty Larceny misdemeanor offense. If charged, Ben would face a fine of up to $1,000, restitution to the victim, and up to six months in jail.
