Man Attempting to Avenge Friend’s Death Shoots at North Las Vegas PoliceA man attempting to avenge his friend’s death, shoots at North Las Vegas Police, which resulted in his arrest. On Tuesday, Alajarreau Cross, led North Las Vegas Police, on a chase, after police attempted to stop him for a traffic violation. According to police, Cross eventually exited his vehicle and ran through a desert lot, at which point, two police office caught him, Cross then fired his gun at them, striking one of the officers in the leg. Both officers returned fire, striking and killing Cross in the desert lot. The North Las Vegas Police Officer shot, was treated for his injuries and subsequently released from the hospital.

Christopher Young a friend of Cross, was distraught over the death of his friend, and decided to take out revenge on the North Las Vegas Police the next day. On Wednesday, Christopher Young was driving a vehicle, and reportedly a passenger in the vehicle opened fire on a North Las Vegas motorcycle officer. The officer called in the shooting, which resulted in two mile chase. During the chase, the shooter fired several rounds through the back of the window at the police who were in pursuit. Eventually, Young lost control of the vehicle and hit a power pole. The shooter fled from the scene and has yet to be identified by police. Young was taken into custody at the scene of the accident. North Las Vegas Police, recovered shell casing and a magazine from inside the vehicle, but the gun has yet to be recovered.

Christopher Young was booked on charges of attempted murder, evading a police officer, conspiracy to commit murder, discharging a firearm from a vehicle, and possessing a firearm while being an ex-felon. The unidentified passenger will be facing similar charges upon his arrest.
